Burrendong Wind Farm
With towering ridgelines and powerful winds, the central west region of NSW is an excellent location for wind energy generation.
The project area is east of Lake Burrendong, in the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone, an area identified as optimal for new projects to help NSW achieve its renewable energy targets.
The EIS and planning documents, including the accepted Submissions Report and Amendment Report, are available from the Burrendong Wind Farm page in the NSW Government’s Major Projects Portal.
The NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure will complete its assessment and recommendation, and refer the application to the NSW Independent Planning Commission for determination.
Final approval under the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) will also be required from the Australian Department of Climate Change, Energy the Environment and Water.
