White Rock Wind Farm
On its commissioning, the White Rock Wind Farm will take the mantle of largest NSW wind farm from Gullen Range, also developed by our company. The project was designed and developed as a green field project, from identification of the site, securing land, developing the site layouts and carrying out detailed site assessment through to completion of development approvals and grid connection approvals.
Stage 1 of White Rock is now under construction by Goldwind . The approvals allow for a second stage which could increase the total capacity of the site up to around 350 megawatts.
The White Rock Wind Farm is located in the New England Tablelands approximately 20 km west of Glen Innes and about 500 km north of Sydney. The wind farm project received development approval for up to 119 turbines from the NSW government in July 2012. This approval followed detailed environmental assessment and consultation with the local community and other key stakeholders.
Our compnay completed the sale of the White Rock Wind Farm project to Goldwind in 2014. Goldwind has installed 70 of its state of the art GW 2.5 MW permanent magnet wind turbines as part of Stage 1 of the project.
