Bowmans Creek Wind Farm (Stage 1) approved by Commonwealth

Project approved under EPBC Act

The Australian Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) has given final approval for the Bowmans Creek Wind Farm under the EPBC Act (EPBC 2020/8631).

The project was approved by the NSW Independent Planning Commission (IPC) in February.

Bowmans Creek Wind Farm will be located approximately 10 km east of Muswellbrook in the NSW Hunter-Central Coast Renewable Energy Zone (REZ), and involves 54 wind turbines with a generation capacity of 347 megawatts (MW), enough to power ~145,000 households per year.

The approval decision notice with final conditions is available from the Bowmans Creek Wind Farm project page in the EPBC Act Public Portal.
