Boulder Creek Wind Farm reaches financial close
Construction to commence next month
Construction of the Boulder Creek Wind Farm will commence in November after the project reached financial close on 27 September.
Located in central Queensland, about 40 km south-west of Rockhampton, the final design of the ~$740 million project involves 38 wind turbines for Stage 1, with an estimated generation capacity of 228 MW.
Ark Energy's team - as Epuron, which it acquired in 2022 - publicly launched the project in 2020, and secured federal and state government approvals and agreements with host landholders and First Nations peoples – the Gaangalu Nation and Darumbal Peoples.
After approvals the project was transferred to investment partner Aula Energy in 2022.
"Boulder Creek Wind Farm reaching financial close is an exciting milestone for Ark Energy," said Acting Head of Development Martin Poole. "It is always great to see the projects that we have designed and taken through the approvals process, move closer to ultimately contributing more renewable energy generation to the grid."
Now co-owned by Aula Energy and CS Energy, CS Energy has committed to purchasing 100 per cent of the wind farm’s output for 20 years.
