Local information centre officially opens

Project information centre in Rockhampton

The opening of the new office and information centre for Ark Energy’s Boomer Green Energy Hub on Thursday 30 November was a great success.

About 40 guests joined Ark Energy CEO Daniel Kim and the project team, including participating landowners, councillors from Central Highlands and Rockhampton Regional Councils, and representatives from non-government organisations and local businesses.

The Boomer Green Energy Hub is a 1,000 megawatt wind and solar project Ark Energy is developing across a number of pastoral properties about 30 km south-west of Marlborough. Ark Energy estimates it will generate around $500 million in economic activity in the region and more than 350 jobs during construction.

Guests heard from Daniel about plans for the $2.5 billion project and Project Director Damian Vermey spoke about the work in progress and the importance of the new information centre in demonstrating Ark Energy's commitment to the community.

The Boomer Green Energy Hub office and information centre is at 1/24 William Street in the Rockhampton CBD.
