RE: Specimen Hill Wind Farm, near Biloela, Queensland (EPBC 2020/8864)

PRELIMINARY DOCUMENTATION UNDER THE ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION AND BIODIVERSITY CONSERVATION ACT 1999 (EPBC Act)

Specimen Hill Wind Farm Pty Ltd proposes to develop the Specimen Hill Wind Farm Project approximately 30 km north-east of Biloela in central Queensland. The project involves the construction and operation of up to 56 wind turbine generators and associated infrastructure.

The proposed action was determined a Controlled Action under the EPBC Act with a Preliminary Documentation with request for further information level of assessment. The controlling provisions are ‘listed threatened species and communities’ (sections 18 and 18A) and ‘listed migratory species’ (sections 20 and 20A).

Draft Preliminary Documentation and associated attachments were on display for a minimum of 10 business days between Monday 23 May and Friday 3 June 2022.

Public comments were sought between Monday 23 May and Friday 3 June 2022. No comments were received.

Final Preliminary Documentation and associated attachments were on display for a minimum of 10 business days between Monday 20 June and Friday 1 July 2022.

Documentation was on display at the following locations:

• Gladstone City Library (Public Reports desk), 39 Goondoon Street, Gladstone, QLD 4680.
• Banana Shire Council Customer Service Centre, 62 Valentine Plains Road, Biloela, QLD 4715.
