CloudCAM installed at Lake Nash

TKLN Lake Nash is very pleased to announce that its mini-grid system is now operating at a higher quality thanks to the installation of a CloudCAM . The CloudCAM was installed on site and has now been integrated into the control system allowing it to keep an eye on the sky.

What the CloudCAM does is essentially in its name as it simply tracks the clouds in the sky with its fish-eye lens, this enables it to forecast the short term generation (or fall of generation) of its associated solar facility. This allows it to start the diesel generator early enough that it can warm up to operating power and cover for the fall in solar generation when the cloud arrives. Having the generator started early is extremely helpful in reducing the use of batteries and extending their life as a result.
