White Rock Wind Farm Update
As we draw to the end of a busy year for the White Rock Wind Farm project, the Epuron team would like to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas. There is already much work planned for next year including continuation of the consultation program and completion of the Planning Application for the project. Thank you for your continued support of this exciting project and your positive feedback.
In late May, the Environmental Assessment was completed for the project and submitted to the Department of Planning. This was subsequently placed on public exhibition for the period from 27 May – 27 June. As a result of the public exhibition, the Department of Planning received a total of 15 submissions including 4 from individual members of the community, 10 from government agencies & 1 from a private business.
A number of issues have been raised in these submissions, many of which have been addressed in the Environmental Assessment. To supplement this existing work, Epuron has prepared a Submissions Report addressing the additional issues raised and has now submitted this to the Department of Planning. Once formally accepted by the Department, this report will be made available on the Planning website.
In parallel, Epuron has continued the environmental assessment of the site, including most recently commissioning a biodiversity consultant to assess the potential for native vegetation offsets on the site should this be required. Wind monitoring has also continued on the site, and Epuron has commenced the process of identifying investors and electricity off-takers
for the project’s construction.
We now await the Department of Planning to complete their assessment and make a determination of the proposal.
