Project update

Work for the development application is ongoing, including the Social Impact Assessment to inform the Community Benefit Agreement with host councils.

In November 2025 the Australian Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) accepted a revised proposal that reduced the number of wind turbines and the disturbance footprint following design iterations to avoid and minimise potential environmental impacts. The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for DCCEEW's assessment is being finalised and once accepted by DCCEEW it will be placed on public exhibition. It is anticipated exhibition of the Draft EIS may occur later this year. Community consultation sessions will be held during the exhibition period, with details notified through local media and a project newsletter.

SIA survey donations

Thank you to community members who completed the Social Impact Assessment survey to help inform community benefit opportunities. For each completed survey, Ark Energy offered to donate $50 to a local community service or organisation of the respondent’s choice. As a result, 120 respondents nominated a donation recipient and Ark Energy made a donation to 20 community organisations and services on their behalf. For the full list see the newsletter linked below.

Community group - applications open
