EIS for Stage 2

The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Stage 2 has been lodged with the NSW Government and is due to be placed on public exhibition.

The proposal consists of an additional 21 wind turbines in the southern part of the project area that would add 120 megawatts of generation capacity and take advantage of planned construction and infrastructure for approved Stage 1.

The EIS will include specialist and technical assessments for:

  • Aboriginal cultural heritage
  • Aviation
  • Biodiversity
  • Blade throw
  • Bushfire
  • Cumulative impact
  • Economic impact
  • Hazards and risks
  • Historic heritage
  • Landscape and visual amenity
  • Noise and vibration
  • Social impacts
  • Soils, land and agriculture
  • Telecommunications
  • Traffic and transport
  • Water quality and resources

After the EIS has been accepted it will be placed on exhibition on the project's page in the NSW Government's Major Projects website. Stage 1 BESS modification

A separate application to add a battery storage system to the approved Bowmans Creek Wind Farm is also being prepared. Target for submission is Q1 2027.
